据哈特能源3月6日消息，纽约New Fortress能源有限公司于3月5日宣布，其波多黎各子公司NFEnergia有限责任公司已经与波多黎各电力管理局(PREPA)签署了一份合同，为圣胡安联合循环发电厂的5号和6号机组提供天然气并进行改造。合同的初始期限为5年，PREPA可以选择再延长3个5年期限。

PREPA估计，这些装置的燃料从柴油转换为天然气将在未来五年为PREPA节省大约7.5亿美元的燃料成本，并显著减少排放。

New Fortress创始人兼首席执行官Wes Edens表示：“对于PREPA和波多黎各来说，这是一笔非常关键的交易，圣胡安5号和6号发电机组改用天然气将节省数亿美元，并加快关键电力基础设施的现代化建设。天然气发电更清洁、更便宜，是可再生能源的完美补充。New Fortress很自豪地投资于波多黎各未来清洁和可再生能源的安全性和可持续性。”

NFEnergía将通过位于圣胡安港的微型燃料处理设施向发电厂供应天然气，该设施已经开发了一年多。该工厂正在建造多个卡车装载区，为岛上的工业客户和微电网提供液化天然气。

New Fortress Energy Signs Contract to Supply Natural Gas to San Juan Power Plant

New Fortress Energy LLC announced March 5 that its Puerto Rico subsidiary, NFEnergía LLC, has entered into a contract with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) for the supply of natural gas and conversion of Units 5 and 6 of the San Juan Combined Cycle Power Plant. The initial term of the contract is five years, with options for PREPA to extend for three additional five-year periods.

PREPA estimates that the conversion of these units from diesel to natural gas will generate an estimated $750 million in fuel cost savings over five years for PREPA and significantly reduce emissions.

NFEnergía will supply natural gas to the power plant from its micro fuel handling facility in the Port of San Juan, which has been under development for more than a year. The facility is being constructed with multiple truck loading bays to provide liquefied natural gas to on-island industrial customers and microgrids.
