DJ India's Tight Regasification Capacity to Ease

Tight regasification capacity in India, the world's 4th-largest LNG importer, is set to ease and pave the way for further purchases, says Kaushik Chatterjee at energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie. Some 16.5 million metric tons of annual capacity is set to come online this year, which will sharply boost the current total of 25.5 million, he notes. The total figure is forecasted to get to 56.5 million by 2025. That should enable India to buy a large stream of international supplies at relatively low prices, says Chaterjee.
