Slovenia's Petrol reports 13 pct rise in 2018 net profit

Slovenian fuel retailer Petrol reported on Friday a 13 percent increase in 2018 net profit on the back of rising sales and kept its guidance for a rise in profit this year.

Petrol operates 500 filling stations in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo.

It said net profit for 2018 increased to 91.8 million euros ($103 million) with sales rising to 5.4 billion euros from 4.5 billion in 2017.

“In 2018 Petrol performed very well, exceeding its set targets,” Petrol said.

It said it still targeted a net profit of 96.7 million euros in 2019, on sales of 5.6 billion euros, as set out in a plan announced in December.

It said it increased its staff by 8 percent last year to 4,857.
