这家意大利公司及其合作伙伴——俄罗斯卢克石油公司、墨西哥独立企业Citla能源公司和英国凯恩能源公司——承诺在2019年至2022年期间在墨西哥钻探7个勘探目标。在首批井获得成功之前，埃尼公司和其合作伙伴已表示有兴趣再钻探5个远景构造。

根据埃尼公司提供给墨西哥国家碳氢化合物委员会的数据，如果这12口井全部成功，埃尼公司及其合作伙伴的总油气储量将增加21.4亿桶油当量。

Exploration underway, Eni could become Mexico's largest private shallow-water operator

With six exploration plans already approved by regulators, Eni is positioned to become the largest shallow-water hydrocarbon producer in Mexico after state-owned company Pemex.

The Italian company and its partners -- Russia's Lukoil, Mexican independent Citla Energy and the UK's Cairn Energy -- are committed to drilling seven exploratory targets in Mexico over 2019-2022. Pending on the success of these first wells, Eni and the other companies have expressed interest in drilling an additional five prospects.

According to Eni data supplied to Mexico's National Hydrocarbon Commission, if all these 12 wells were successful, Eni and its partners could add a combined gross 2.14 billion boe in reserves.

Mexico has the potential to become an important component in Eni's future, said Marco Baltazar, upstream analyst at Wood Mackenzie in Houston.

"Mexico offers Eni a significant opportunity to raise its cash flow and production rapidly due to the country's low breakeven cost," Baltazar said.

An Eni spokeswoman in Milan declined comment Friday on the company's Mexico plans.
