Amid the recent fight over Anadarko, there's been a split of opinion on whether a consolidation phase has arrived in the oil patch. Wood Mackenzie research director Cody Rice tells WSJ that many oil producers "are relatively undervalued" and that some majors will move. "But most likely is the merger of smaller companies so they can compete for scale and make themselves more attractive" to bigger players.
