此举符合日本的战略目标，即支持其能源公司的海外扩建以及开发亚洲新兴液化天然气进口商的国内天然气市场。

AG&p公司的业务包括管道天然气输送、压缩天然气供应以及印度中小型液化天然气进口基础设施建设。AG&P公司还参与LNG燃料船的设计、建造和调试、浮动储存和再气化装置以及船舶双燃料应用。

Japan's Osaka Gas, JBIC buy stake in Asian LNG company AG&P

Osaka Gas and state-owned Japan Bank for International Cooperation have bought a minority stake in AGP International Holdings, a company focused on developing gas and LNG projects across emerging gas importers in Asia.

The move is in line with Japan's strategic objective of supporting the overseas expansion of its energy companies and developing domestic gas markets across emerging LNG importers in Asia.

AG&P's businesses include pipeline gas distribution, compressed natural gas supply and small and medium-scale LNG import infrastructure developments in India. AG&P is also involved in the design, construction and commissioning of LNG bunkering vessels, floating storage and regasification units, and dual-fuel applications for ships.

"Osaka Gas' investment in AG&P marks the next step in a long-term relationship where both parties have worked together to develop LNG infrastructure projects in south Asia, Southeast Asia and the Americas, among others," AG&P said in a statement Monday.

Katz Sato, Head of South and East Asia Business Development for Osaka Gas, said: "We strongly believe that this investment in AG&P will provide Osaka Gas with a valuable asset to create and develop new markets for Osaka Gas.
