Cheniere's LNG terminal in Texas gets nod for Train 2 commercial service

Cheniere Energy received the go-ahead Wednesday from US regulators to begin commercial service on its second liquefaction train at its LNG export terminal near Corpus Christi, Texas.

The operator has been ramping up feedgas deliveries to the facility over the last week. The market is closely watching utilization at Cheniere's export terminal in Texas and the one at Sabine Pass in Louisiana.

US LNG netbacks have been trending only marginally positive this month, but the derivatives markets point toward better prices ahead. Cheniere has been eyeing potential price strengthening heading into the winter.
