埃及达米埃塔港务局（DPA）主席瓦利德·阿瓦德接待了来自意大利巴里港,意大利商会和多个意大利物流公司的代表团,共同讨论了为船舶提供液化天然气和必要的基础设施方面合作的可能性，以及达米埃塔港液化天然气终端在埃及的发展潜力。

阿瓦德解释称，向船舶供应液化天然气，与埃及交通部为将埃及港口转变为绿色港口以造福周边环境所做的努力是一致的。

这次访问是在埃及和意大利海运部门和意大利驻开罗大使馆组织的第二届埃及-意大利对话论坛之后进行的。

Italian delegation discusses LNG ship supply in Damietta Port, Egypt

A new LNG partnership may be in the making following the visit of an Italian port to a port in Egypt to discuss the eco-friendly fuel.

Walid Awad, chairman of Damietta Port Authority (DPA) in Egypt received an Italian delegation from the Italian multipurpose Port of Bari, Italian Chamber of Commerce and multiple Italian logistics companies to discuss the possibility of cooperation to supply ships with LNG and the necessary infrastructure, with the potential for LNG facilities in Damietta Port.

Mr Awad explained that supplying ships with LNG is compatible with the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Transport to convert Egyptian ports into green ports to benefit the surrounding environment.

The visit comes after the second forum of Egyptian-Italian dialogue, organised by the Maritime Transport Sector and the Italian Embassy in Cairo.
